Extensive multi-page archive biographical DVD booklet

The only DVD ever totally dedicated to John Cooper Clarke. The missing Hannett and Ryan Carter films of the early days of John Cooper Clarke's career. This is the classic John Cooper Clarke filmed in the dingy punk rock clubs of the late 70s and early 80s. Punk poetry recited at 100 miles an hour. Five DVD chapters of poems and a short chapter of backstage and dressing room footage. Features performances of many poems, including the more notable ones: Beasley St, Chickentown, I Married A Monster From Outer Space, Health Fanatic, The Day My Pad Went Mad and loads more. Clarke has opened for such acts as the Sex Pistols, The Fall, Joy Division, Buzzcocks, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Elvis Costello and New Order (at their May 1984 Music For Miners benefit concert at London's Royal Festival Hall). His set is characterized by lively, rapid-fire renditions of his poems, usually performed a cappella style. He opened for Be-Bop Deluxe on their 1977 UK tour and later for Rockpile on their 1979 US tour. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Clarke enjoyed some chart success in the UK with the single "Gimmix! Play Loud" and subsequent album “Snap, Crackle & Bop”. In 1979 he applied to join the Actors Union Equity, but as there was already a member named John Cooper Clarke, he joined as Lenny Siberia instead.
